Under this, youth and vulnerable parents/caregivers e.g teenage mothers are equipped with skills in hair dressing, pedicure and manicure. These skills are geared toward income generation, enabling families to become self-reliant and meet their needs sustainably, which also keeps them and their children from seeking survival on the streets
At our Musanze center, we provide training in hair recycling, particularly for teenage mothers. This program equips them with skills to repurpose discarded hair into valuable products, such as wigs and hair extensions, fostering entrepreneurship and financial independence. By transforming waste into resources, participants contribute to environmental sustainability while enhancing their livelihoods.
We provide comprehensive shoe-making training to youth and caregivers from vulnerable families, equipping them with practical skills to enhance their economic self-sufficiency. Our beneficiaries are trained to craft traditional jewelry like bangles and necklaces.This skill celebrates Rwanda’s artistic identity while empowering individuals to generate income through the creation of good, culturally inspired products. Through this, we preserve the significance of Rwanda’s artistry and share its beauty with the world.
Vegetable gardening is another essential skill we train our beneficiaries in.This training equips them to grow nutritious produce, ensuring food security for themselves and their families while also creating opportunities for income generation. By cultivating their own gardens, beneficiaries can reduce dependency, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to community well-being. This program empowers individuals to utilize available resources effectively, fostering resilience and self-reliance.
Piggery training is also part of our skills development program, designed to equip beneficiaries with the knowledge and expertise needed to raise pigs effectively. This training covers essential aspects such as breeding, feeding, disease management, and waste utilization, enabling participants to establish sustainable pig farming practices. By engaging in piggery, beneficiaries can enhance their household nutrition, generate consistent income, and utilize pig manure to improve crop production.
Poultry farming is a skill we train our beneficiaries in, offering them a sustainable pathway to economic empowerment and improved food security. This training covers critical areas such as proper housing, feeding, disease prevention, and egg and meat production. By mastering poultry farming techniques, beneficiaries can provide nutritious food for their families and generate a reliable source of income through the sale of eggs and chickens. This program empowers individuals to utilize small spaces effectively, promoting self-reliance and contributing to local food supply chains, while also fostering long-term community development.
