Empowering Children and Youth Through Creative Arts

Like sports, the arts serve as a tool to engage children and youth, fostering character development, talent development, and self-expression.

Not only are we using creative arts as a way to engage children in street situations, we also emphasize the income generating possibilities in this industry, by detecting the talented young people in this sector and providing them with the skills to become professionals in their respective trades.

Apart from providing those young people with prospective careers and financial stability, it will furthermore benefit Rwanda’s overall economy by opening up new possibilities of venturing in this young and growing high-potential sector.

Traditional Dance and Music

About 100 children and youth visit the center to participate in traditional dance and music weekly. These art forms serve as powerful tools for building relationships, allowing us to understand and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of young individuals. Through creative expression, participants develop a deeper connection to their cultural heritage, fostering a sense of identity and belonging

Modern Dance

As part of our dance training, modern/contemporary dance is one which resonates deeply with the youth as it aligns with contemporary pop culture, making it a captivating tool to attract and engage them. Through modern dance, young people not only explore creative self-expression but also gain exposure to diverse cultures and ideas, broadening their horizons.

Drama

We use drama as a powerful tool to educate, inspire, and connect with communities by addressing real-life challenges through storytelling. Drama creates a safe and engaging space for audiences to reflect on societal issues, explore solutions, and relate to the experiences portrayed on stage. By weaving compelling narratives, drama fosters awareness, encourages critical thinking, and motivates individuals to take positive actions, whether in promoting education, addressing family challenges, or building stronger communities. It is both a form of creative expression and a catalyst for change, offering a meaningful way to engage and empower people.

Fashion Modeling

We also offer fashion modeling where the children and youth get a platform to express their creativity, build confidence, and explore their unique identities. Fashion modeling not only enhances their self-esteem but also introduces them to opportunities in the creative industry, broadening their horizons. Through this, we are able to nurture their potential and encourage them to envision a brighter future.

Painting

We train youth and children in painting to nurture their creativity, enhance self-expression, and develop fine motor skills. This provides them a therapeutic outlet, boosts confidence, and helps them explore their emotions while connecting with their inner talents. It also serves as a platform for meaningful engagement, allowing us to understand and support their personal growth.
